Fran Nachlas is a longtime Boca Raton resident, experienced public servant, and proven community leader who has spent her life caring for people and strengthening the city she calls home.

 

As Boca Raton's Deputy Mayor, Fran brings steady, resident-focused leadership rooted in public safety, neighborhood protection, and smart, responsible growth.

 

As a City Council Member, Fran has focused on the fundamentals that make Boca Raton a great place to live: public safety, neighborhood preservation, fiscal responsibility, and protecting public land. She has supported investments that keep Boca one of the safest cities in Florida, strengthened partnerships with police and firefighters, and backed policies that ensure growth is thoughtful, transparent, and aligned with community values.

 

For nearly three decades, Fran worked as a surgical nurse, including serving as an Operating Room Manager, in Boca Raton. In the operating room, she was trusted with people in their most vulnerable moments — a responsibility that shaped her calm, detail-oriented approach to leadership and decision-making. That same commitment to safety, preparation, and accountability guides her work in public office today.

 

Fran’s dedication to Boca Raton extends beyond healthcare. For more than 25 years, she has held a Florida real estate license, helping families put down roots and navigate major life transitions. Alongside her husband, a surgeon who served Boca Raton for decades, Fran has devoted her professional and volunteer life to the well-being of the community.

 

Fran is also deeply committed to community service and public health. She co-founded a nonprofit focused on skin cancer awareness and prevention, helping direct more than $550,000 toward education and lifesaving initiatives. Her volunteer work has included supporting local students, families, and organizations that strengthen Boca Raton from the ground up.

 

A lifelong athlete and endurance competitor, Fran has completed seven Boston Marathons and three full Ironman triathlons — experiences that reflect the perseverance, discipline, and resilience she brings to public service. She believes progress comes from showing up, doing the work, and staying focused on what matters most.

 

Now, Fran Nachlas is running for Mayor of Boca Raton to continue delivering steady leadership, strong public safety, and thoughtful stewardship of the city residents love. Her vision is simple: a Boca Raton that remains safe, welcoming, and well-managed — where families, seniors, businesses, and neighborhoods can thrive today and for generations to come.
